Objective
Study the effect of Veinoplus electrostimulation on pathophysiology and quality of life of patients with venous stasis secondary to distal saphenous incontinence.
The device Veinoplus is presented.
Material and Methods
Study is not randomized.
Inclusion criteria were venous insufficiency with pain (COs or C1s or C2S according to the CEAP classification) with external saphenous incontinence. At the initial consultation, a Doppler was used to assess the pathophysiologic effects of the reflux and each patient completed a questionnaire of QOL (quality of life) the CIVIQ 2. Patients used VEINOPLUS 20 minutes every day for three weeks. A CIVIQ 2 questionnaire was filled at final consultation (after 3 weeks).
Results
Pathophysiological effect was studied on 20 patients. Veinoplus virtually restores a physiological venous flow and drain accumulated blood from.
The effect on the quality of life was studied in 40 patients. Veinoplus significantly improves the quality of life of patients.
Conclusion
Veinoplus Electrostimulation can be considered as an additional mean in the therapeutic strategy for reduction of venous stasis.
It provides a distal venous drainage and significantly improves the quality of life of patients.
